LCR Honda MotoGP Team rider Randy De Puniet took part to the Xtreme Supermotard race last week end in Bologna for the 33rd edition of the popular Motor Show Fair. The Frenchman involved in the MotoGP championship with the LCR Team, got into the track on Saturday morning aboard his Honda 450CRF fighting with many two-wheels champions like Pichon, Carlson, Everts, Chareyre brothers and so on… The Frenchman was the only MotoGP rider competing in this exciting two-day competition and enjoyed himself challenging with the other riders although the bad weather. The first day, the 20 Xtreme Supermotard competitors, used only the tarmac part of the Motosport Stadium track because of the heavy rain but the following day the 27-year-old was one of the protagonists in the final afternoon race run in the mixed part of the track. Randy obtained the 8th final place overall ahead a very warm crowd. The Frenchman met his fans at “La Gazzetta dello Sport” stand for a quick interview and signed autographs at the Doctor Glass (LCR Team Official Sponsor) stand based inside the Team Hospitality Structure for the duration of the fair. Randy: “I enjoyed myself very much during these two days. The bad weather conditions slowed down our pace but it was a good training for me. The guys here are very fast because they compete in the Supermotard championship since a long time and I never expected to end in the top ten. We suffered some light slides during the races but luckily everybody escaped unhurt from the incidents. I think it was a very exciting show for the spectators and hope to be here even next year. I could check my wrist during the races and I can finally say that it is fixed. Our next winter test session will be held in Sepang on the first week of February so I will keep on training till that date… even on the supermotard”.
